A three stranded cord of Hope, thirty years in the making…

“…But how can one keep warm alone? Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.” Ecclesiastes 4:11b-12

Hope is breaking through. The Lord has orchestrated an incredible three stranded chord of provision for the people of Ukraine. The semi-truck we used last week to deliver food to Pastor Valentin’s church in Odessa made its way to Prague yesterday.

Our dear friend Daniel Skogen, who is Pastor of ICF Prague and president of an organization called Feed the Hungry, reached out to us last Friday. Daniel shared they had a substantial amount of food they were looking to contribute (33 paletts) to the people of Ukraine, the major issue being they didn’t have a truck.

Meanwhile, our semi-truck had returned from Odessa and was awaiting fulfillment to be sent back into Ukraine. The connection to this truck is provided by our friend Anna who is a worship leader in Freiburg. Anna connected us to the man who is providing the semi-trucks & the ability to deliver foods to Odessa.

Thirty years ago, there were many people coming to Germany from Ukraine. This man started helping Ukrainian’s and providing a space where they could cook, sell Ukrainian food and ultimately creating business opportunities for many Ukrainians in Germany.  During this time, his heart for Ukraine continued to grow and he began sending goods into their country for the past 30 years. He has consistently sent 4 trucks to different locations in Ukraine; however, Odessa was the one city he had never been able to reach.

Until three weeks ago, Tanja reached out to him with the opportunity to be a part of meeting the need in Odessa. He said receiving the call was an answer to prayer decades in the making and He knew the request was coming directly from the Lord. This was an answered pray to finally reach Odessa. We are able to use the trucks and routes he has been establishing for the past 30 years, partnered with Feed the Hungry and Ignite Europe to provide food for people into areas of Ukraine that otherwise would not be reached. This cord of three strands is bringing Hope. We are so grateful as, right now, we are one of the only ministries able to deliver food & supplies into Ukraine.

We are honored to share with you all that your prayers and gracious donations are moving through the region and into the areas of the deepest need.

Tomorrow another fully loaded semi-truck will begin its’ journey into Ukraine. We spent the last two days walking in God’s provision as we loaded the truck with 33 palettes of food or about 12.5 tons. To give you an idea, a pallet of food can carry 500-700 kg of food, which is approximately 1,800 portions of food. 8 Pallets of food is 16,400 portions and 16 palettes is 32,800 portions. Any way you say it, this is an incredible amount of food that is on its way to an even greater need.

We continue to be blown away by the faithfulness of God. The connections God has woven together are unbelievable. He is our ever-present help and Provider. Please continue to pray over Ukraine and Russia. Pray for the drivers of the trucks that they would be protected and able to deliver the blessings of food and provision. Pray that God would continue to use us to be present with those who are hurting and an answer to prayers of those who are in great need. We are so grateful to you all for your never-ending support and generosity. Thank you so much for all your prayers and generosity. Please share this incredible story.

“May your unfailing love be with us, LORD, even as we put our hope in you.” Psalm 33:22
