We have sent two semi trucks full of food into the Odessa Region. We bought 33 pallets of food, arriving into a town of 100,000 people. Thousands stood in line to receive provision despite the blaring sirens calling on everyone to take shelter. This food bank we are supplying is the only access this region has to provision right now. Grocery stores are completely empty.
As people came into their church we were able to share the Gospel for five minutes with them as part of the process to receive their food. This was an incredible blessing as so many are searching for Hope.
To date, we’ve moved dozens of families from war zones in Ukraine to Switzerland, helped them find housing and walked each one through the process of receiving S protecting status. S status allows Ukrainians to receive governmental financial support, free top notch health care, and even allows them to work.
One of the families arrived with a daughter who was eight months pregnant. Two weeks after arriving, her baby, Leon, was born. We’ve seen life given and life restored to families who have lost everything in this war.
We started a fully Ukrainian church in Zürich, pastored by Shawn and Tanja. We began meeting on Friday nights as soon as the war began. Attendees receive a free dinner and stay for an entire church service (the message is translated from the platform). Dozens of Ukrainians have given their lives to Jesus. Praise the Lord!
10,000 new refugees have arrived in the last few weeks alone.
It has been an incredibly powerful experience for us to come together and sing praises while also being in fellowship. We are blown away to see what The Lord is doing right here in Zurich in our midst.
