Second Semi Safe in Odessa

Driving the journey of hundreds of miles, our second load of provision arrived onto the battered streets of Odessa. The semi-truck was met by Valentin’s church ready to unload and receive the pallets sent all the way from Prague. Their food bank is a place that provides to hundreds of people and families all over the city.

This massive load came together as a cord of three strands that we shared a few posts back. If you haven’t had the chance to read that story, we know it will encourage you! You can read it here: https://igniteeurope.com/2022/03/25/a-three-stranded-cord-of-hope-thirty-years-in-the-making/

The truck was sent with so much provision that Yan from Izmaji is picking up several pallets from Valentins food bank to take back with him to Izmajil and feed people there. Not only was the truck enough to fill the food bank in Odessa, we are now seeing it go beyond and reach not only Kizmaji’s church but another church in Odessa, too!

Kirill from Pastor Vitaly’s church Praide Church just picked up several pallets from Valentin. Kirill will take provision back to his community in Odessa and feed Praise Church congregation there. The same God that fed the 5,000 with only five loaves of bread and two fish, in the days Jesus was walking the earth is the same God that is providing now. Jesus is an expert at taking the little that we have and stretching it in ways only He can! He is the God of miracles.

In the book of Matthew, the disciples are with Jesus in a remote village:

15 As evening approached, the disciples came to him and said, “This is a remote place, and it’s already getting late. Send the crowds away, so they can go to the villages and buy themselves some food.”

16 Jesus replied, “They do not need to go away. You give them something to eat.”

17 “We have here only five loaves of bread and two fish,” they answered.

Jesus wasn’t concerned about the little that they had to feed the large need. He took what they had and blessed it and everyone who was in need was met with the compassion of Jesus.

18 “Bring them here to me,” he said. 19 And he directed the people to sit down on the grass. Taking the five loaves and the two fish and looking up to heaven, he gave thanks and broke the loaves. Then he gave them to the disciples, and the disciples gave them to the people. 20 They all ate and were satisfied, and the disciples picked up twelve basketfuls of broken pieces that were left over. 21 The number of those who ate was about five thousand men, besides women and children.

We continue to praise the Lord for his provision and protection! Thank you so much for your constant support, prayers and gifts of money and resources.
