Meet Ignite Europe’s New Evangelists

We are so excited to introduce you to the two newest Ignite Europe team members. Karen Zelfimyan and Yan Hrosu are officially on board as staff evangelists.

We met Karen during the year-long process of planning and executing One Hope Odessa. He’s been our translator and evangelism partner, and has become close friend. He’s done evangelism work for the last 25 years and led thousands of people to Christ. He also works for Ukrainian Harvest Ministries as an evangelist. His favorite hobby is to evangelize in cities where no missionaries have been and to see people come to know the Lord. He’s married to Olga; they live in Ukraine with their three children, Albert (16), Korina (11), and a baby boy due in October. With his unique gifting and our quick friendship, we should’ve known God was up to something when He put Karen in our path.

Yan has worked closely with Karen as an associate evangelist. He was saved in 2011 and called into fulltime ministry and evangelism in 2014. In addition to his Ignite Europe work, he studies at the Theological University in Kiev. He loves to evangelize the lost, if you’re familiar with the Strengths Finder personality assessment, his top strength is Team Builder. He and his wife Kristina live in Ukraine with their two young boys.

As part of Ignite Europe, these two will grow our ministry and evangelism efforts in Eastern Europe, including bringing food and the gospel to poor villages across Ukraine, Moldova, and Romania. They will also help Ignite Europe continue to build our Go & Tell evangelism workshops across Europe. Karen and Yan hit the ground running, and are already leading people to Jesus in Ukraine. We’ll be sharing their inspiring stories of evangelism in Eastern Europe right here on the blog. Stay tuned!
